There are a number of trends I'm amused by at deviantART.
Search for draw this again and you see a meme where deviants are showing their progress through the years. Examples:
Then there's a trend on YouTube where deviants are posting video blogs about their deviantART experiences. I recently caught this one by *DomieNeek that I was charmed by. She makes great points, too!
In November we published a Journal on #dt's Blog, very discreetly announcing that we've launched a set of API's (Application Programming Interfaces) so that developers out there could make Apps for deviantART.
Even though this was whispered, we're seeing these Apps get some traction. Perhaps it's time to be less discreet.
Speaking of dAmn, I noticed that `Artgerm has a new chatroom that he hangs out in on there called #Artgermination - I've been hanging out in there a bit lately.
Also, check out *CassandraPoulson and *ARTofANT who are hangin' out with us at deviantART HQ working on top secret unannounced projects! Their art is amazing!
I''m slowly easing myself back into deviantART lately, been working hard, and saw this as one of the first things in my Inbox. I just looked back on my gallery and just had a moment of pure horror and then inspiration. I'm in the middle of yet another art block so I'm going to redraw everything in my gallery. And do it properly this time, following anatomy tutorials and stuff. This is why I love DeviantART and missed it so much over the passed two years.
I actaully like the 2006 version of moemai's piece better; The newer is probably best skill wise, but I like the older one's style better. Great stuff.
The trend of "draw this again" is truly amazing; it's very interesting how the artist stile evolves you can keep watching the progress from one draw with the other for minutes.
And about the trend in youtube I didn't like it; because I feel like is a bunch of complains. It's true that any sm or site is perfect, but if you think you can make a bigger list of things you don't like form other sm like facebook or twitter [I can't stand the bugs form twitter for example] but you have to get the best form each sm or site and communicate all the problems with the admins or the people that is in charge. I really like this place.
Thanks for inspiring me!
God news the APIs, the auto update seems awesome!
