In the deviantWATCH, we would like to switch to Feeds vs. Messages you have to "X" away one by one.
Now, I could use a wide net of input for message center revamp, but really I'd like to start with a narrow view of just deviantWATCH.
The deviantWATCH lives within Messages, which contains within it Feedback, Notices, etc. as well. deviantWATCH messages come in like crazy in your message center once you are watching 20+ people. And of the folks reading my Journal, I know you guys tend to have over 100+ people that you +WATCH.
Help me understand something. Because if we go off and make changes, we're going to have a riot on our hands. And no one needs that kind of sadness in their lives:
Why can't we switch to feeds?
Feeds would effectively index YOUR deviantWATCH in to deviantART's search engine, so your deviantWATCH Deviations would have all of the filters and capabilities of the home page. Categories, Newest, Most Popular 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, etc. BUT all of this would be narrowed just to your deviantWATCH. You could search, you could have all of the viewing benefits of Browse like SitBack and RSS feeds.
The down side? Or is it the upside? No "X" -- deviantWATCH would simply show you your Watch as a search result feed, it would even tell you how many new items are in your feed, but once you viewed your deviantWATCH the counter would reset to zero. You could always browse your entire Watch history, but you wouldn't be able to push "away" all the deviations you're "done" with. Instead, you'd have to +Favorite them or Sta.sh them or something

Or, if you want it so badly, don't force it on people like me who doesn't want/need it, make it optional, just like being a beta tester when you have PM.

DA has changed so much over time and while some updates and ideas are good, some are just made to make DA seem more "hip" or changed just to change. Places like MySpace were ruined when they kept making little changes and started driving people away. I use DA show show some of my work to possible customers, if DA keeps changing then someone who knew how to look through things a couple years ago has a hard time adjusting now to the change I could lose business.
DA is FINE the way it is. It's not made for us to HAVE to be on 24/7 but there is such a huge amount of people on here I'd be surprised if you really needed us all to be on all the time.
I can honestly say if DA goes through with this and doesn't stop making this site more like a social media site like Twitter (which I can't stand and refuse to make an account) or FaceBook not only will it draw the wrong crowd but it will start driving away the few on here that are professionals and really do USE the site.
95% of the opinions that I read are totally against these plans and want the MC to stay as it is now!
But... dA just wants to implement their stubborn idea portion by portionm bit by bit to keep the users satisfied and/or to give them the illusion that they are listened to! They want to "feed" all, people! Wether we like it or not, they'll gonna get it!
Paying members have no say in it at all... it's always the receiving end (where the money goes) who will use and abuse their power, no matter the price. And this "feed" thing will for sure cost them dearly in the long run!
I just hope they will wake up before doing something awefully dumb.
