How the frick do I turn off stash. It is more complicated then I want my sumission process to be, I have to keep track of how much I ahve uploaded? And where the hell do you go to delet stuff from your stash if you go over 2GB? I am not as computer savvy as some and I need my submissions to be easy peasy.

Oh yeah and before anyone says upgrade. I have no money to upgrade my account right now.

Okay i had enough from this sh*t, it doesn't upload what i want or if it uploads it doesn's let me put in the category where it belongs to or even anywhere (for ex.: i upload an exe or rar-zip files (this contains a logon screen) i select Customization->Windows Utilities->Windows XP Logon / or anything like that - and it says that category is not good or even anything i select is not good), and i mention that that it uploads stuff really slow.

So fix it or bring back the old classical uploading form - because that was way more faster, easier, reliable than this and it wasn't had stupid messages/notifications.

Sta.sh is great, and I love the writer, because I can just type something up on the Writer quickly on one computer, and edit it on another computer, and post it from another computer. Its really handy for that sort of stuff!
However, its a pain in the *** to write and edit journals with. Its really confusing, and I like the normal way to write journals. Could it be changed so that journals are independent of Sta.sh?
Thanks!

I like it for storing images to be used as graphics on my page so Sta.sh is good for that. However when I try and edit my journal entries I get re-directed to the Sta.sh page which is extremely ANNOYING because now I can't edit my journal entries.

So please does anybody know how I can disable Sta.sh or turn it on/off?

This issue is driving me insane! x[

It is problematic, and gives me a great amount of trouble when trying to edit a journal because it sends me straight to stash writer and it is just difficult to work with.

I'll try it out and form an opinion about it. But the fact that I can still use the old submission system means it will either have a positive effect or no effect (neutral or win situation).

Wow, you are gone one semester and then suddenly you come back and there's this thing. Hmm, I liked the old system, but if you can upload stuff easier, I'm all for that. I'll test it out and see if I like it before I start my fit throwing.

I don't really understand the purpose of this new "uploading platform". If it's not going to take place of the old uploading process, why create a new tool that does exactly the same as the old one? This will involve just more work, keep both systems synchronized and with similar features and all, not to mention the double maintenance and development work... I don't know of the others, but the old system was serving me very well, and i intend to keep using it.

I'm sure the dA staff has some bigger goal with this new system. Maybe a better integration with other social networks, or maybe to make dA look more like a professional place by separating portfolio from networking. But then, again, there's portfolio.deviantart.com. Or maybe the old uploading process will really be substituted by this.

Gosh, i'm getting confused.

About Journals as deviations...

This is mixing social networking from the main point of the whole deviantART: art showcase. A comment is a comment (and that's what a journal is, a comment on whatever topic the user wants to talk about), not a piece of literature. As some members have already said, dA is not Facebook. Seems like the dA staff is losing focus. This will only bring you all more work, because you'll have to moderate one more category of deviations (and one with lots of personal opinions), deal with accidental submissions/angered people, not to mention that it'll do more confusion than organization for the users, for having two distinct features that are submitted the same way. You could say that users can get used to it with time, but what about new users? You'd not scare them away.

Why not replicate the deviation system for journals, if that's so important? The only thing that'd make sense is some kind of journal bookmarking (as in site bookmarking, personal, should not appear to others), something that could be simple to do. Hell, i don't even care for journal bookmarking, i just think this isn't needed. Journals as deviations is just a bloated feature, and despite the good intentions, in the long run will do more harm than good.

And i don't know, but looking at the 2/10GB space limitation, it may look like dA is trying to address problems with bandwidth and databases' size. Or dA is trying to make a new stock/file sharing platform focused on art. Or dA is trying to make us aware that the system has limits.

It may look like it, but i'm not against the sta.sh system. It's good to have new features once in a while, but this new platform is trying to be just too ambitious when it doesn't really need to be.

well

i use the

local public library

for internet access

because i'm poor

and not everyone has flash/zip drives

or knows how to use them

so

this would help people such as me

who couldn't even afford

a $5 zip drive

who still wanted

to work

regardless
