Browse Through Journals in Your Message Center
When browsing through deviations in your Message Center, you can use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons to flip through artwork and use the "Remove From Messages" button to remove each of those deviations. Site Update: January 12, 2012It's 2012, and it's time for the first Site Update of the year!
Just a little while ago, we posted the latest Sta.sh updates and asked you for more feedback. Now, in this update, you'll find all the feedback from those 500+ comments gathered into the Known Issues section below, just after the Change Log, which will tell you about some brand new features launching today, as well as all the bugs fixed since the last update.
The last update was all about Sta.sh, and there are some pretty big Sta.sh announcements this time too, but this update features any changes that have been made to deviantART, Profiles, Messages, Sta.sh, everything!

Many have asked for the ability to share a whole stack of Sta.sh files, as well as just one at a time. Well now you can! In any stack on your Sta

Journals: The Tweaks We ALL WantWell, that didn't entirely go as planned.

There are a few issues with the Journal implementation, but there aren't any issues we can't easily fix. And we got so much great feedback, that we now clearly understand some things we didn't before. The best part is, we're going to get the best of both worlds for Journals. All of the benefits of the deviation system for Journals, with all of the resolutions that were vocalized as concerns.
Monday of next week, we're going to release the following changes so that everyone can SMILE!

When you go to publish a Journal, you'll be able to Submit your Journal to your Profile just as you did before the changes. The Journal will go out to your +Watch list, display on your Journal tab and on your Profile Page (if applicable.) There wouldn't be a +Favorite button unless you Submit to The deviantART Journal.

Addressing Journals as Deviations!I wanted to address the controversy surrounding Journals as Deviations so that we're all on the same page.

We collected a list of comments from the release article and some journals and here they are, with my responses for all to see.
First, part of being in a community is being understanding. deviantART Staff faces this daily as we understand member concerns and try our best to serve you.
In situations like the one we face right now with Journals, I ask you to be understanding with us as we battle with difficult circumstances balancing the needs of millions of members.
Any change we make creates frustration, but if we do not make changes then we are killed by change itself.

Incredible SOPA Response

I've been watching the SOPA response on deviantART all day, and needless to say the level of discussion being had about it is at an all new level from what I've ever seen around here the past decade or so.

When you guys rally, it's quite a sight. And I do mean a sight...

These are screenshots just taken from the front page of dA. And with every reload of our NEWEST submissions...

... there is a seemingly endless stream of these DEVIATION CENSORED deviations, just about all of them opposing SOPA and PIPA.

It's always mesmerizing to watch our community in action, especially when armed with a cause.

I am certain you are being heard. Even Google has taken notice,while the discussion rages on at over 21,000 comments and I would estimate just as many blacked out deviations!

As a side note, I've been giggling all along at the name of these two bills. I'm half Greek, fluent in Greek, born in Athens and I visit about twice a year... so I mean.. I'm truly fluent and truly half Greek. My point is that in Greek....
