Commission Modules

As you can see on my profile, you may now commission me in order to answer either a simple, or complicated question for a fee. This isn't the intent of this system, but I wasn't about to offer my drawing skills for commission. I just don't think I've built up enough of a reputation with my drawings in this way. Meanwhile, I need to test the Commissions Widgets, we're considering releasing them on Friday for more folks to use them! What do you think of this?

Sta.sh on Forums

Enhanced conversations were released to Senior Members for use in the deviantART Forums.  In short, they permit you to use your Sta.sh Cloud Storage along side the deviantART Media language. So you can easily add photos, emotes from the community, your favorites, anything in your gallery, even things in your friends galleries in to the conversation threads to increase the bandwidth of your online conversations. We've stumbled in to a few truly fun use cases while playing around with it, and we're talking about how everyone feels about these new capabilities.

I also posted this journal a couple of days ago:

I've since reached out to all of the folks whose art was used in this way. I've heard back so far from 3 of the original authors and generally speaking they either like it or don't mind it. And like the general tonality for how we are planning to launch it. (Allowing you to choose not to permit comments on your work. Effectively, just as we do now with existing comments.)

Life

I hope you guys are having an excellent Holiday season. Bentley, Royce, Viktoria and I are jumping in the car first thing in the morning to drive up to Mammoth Mountain to get our Holiday Ski on! On the way up, there's this fantastic frozen lake where I stopped last year and took these great photos with Bentley and Vik (o-KOUKLA-o) that I posted in January:

We will most certainly miss chris and pachunka this year who flew home to be with their families in Canada and Ireland respectively. But we WILL be joined this year by a new member of the family ... Royce!

Bentley is constantly getting pounced by his little sister who is full of puppy energy.

But he's getting squeezed plenty to make up for it. :D

Happy Holidays folks!

Ah the idea is wonderful! (Though I am not a PM) I'm wondering if you would consider making a journal with the same idea? The thing is, a lot of like clean and uncluttered profiles, so this would help loads!

Also, cute dogs <3 the last one is a good shot c:

The commission modules are a great idea BUT only if it is points OR PayPal (real money). I'm not interested in points. I know DA needs to find ways to monetize wherever possible, but any time it's connected to the hard work of the deviants, I would stay far away from profiting off of them. Even if its indirectly by making people purchase points to get said commissions. This could be a great move in the right direction. I applaud any movement toward our DA pages becoming more like personal stores,if we want them to be.

*also, are we talking about real money here, or points? Or an option? I'd strongly push for the real money thing to be possible... thanks.

Commission modules? I think it's great - hopefully that will spill over in a way to be able to search for deviants doing commissions? (or answering questions :p ) And maybe you can have a way where they give examples of their art so that comes up in the search? (am I getting ahead of myself here?)

Considering I did commission an artist (to give them a hand) and they never came through with it - I wonder if there's a time limit? Can I get a refund if life circumstances get in the way? What if I'm not happy with the product in the sense that it's worse than the example? Do I have a say in whether the artist has completed it to my satisfaction? (although wouldn't want the system to be abused.. )

Anyway, fantastic to be able to make it easier to find active artists and support their profession. :D

I actually do not see the Commissions Module... :paranoid:

BUT I LOVE THE IDEA! :nuu:

I search for artists to commission often - and it would be so helpful if they could post their status in a nifty widget on their userpage. :iconeagerpee:

BTW - you have the most beautiful dogs. Might I ask what breed they are? Bentley seems like a real charmer. My boyfriend and I are getting our first dog in celebration of moving into our first house!

We're considering a Great Dane, Pomsky, or Husky/Wolf mix... but I'd settle for your dog's breed any day. :huggle:
