Introducing deviantART v6

This is the first ever published glimpse at v6, but this post is entirely technical in nature. For those in the community interested in the design process, this is for you. v6 Search

Frictionless. Definitely the goal. Type a search term (fish), auto-refinement, no reload. Switch to popular, back to newest, narrow to digital art, or further if you like.

Self explanatory.

Information icon gives you gallery description.

There is still the desire by much of the team to move NEWEST/POPULAR switches to the guided search area above or below galleries, make the entire title bar about 25-35 pixels smaller, move thumbnails further up and make this even more efficient. We are likely to make these changes post launch... can't continue to deliberate anymore, it's time for this version to go out. The overall advancements here are too great to keep postponing by weeks at a time.
